This Privacy Policy applies to all users of our services, including operations teams using our safety monitoring and documentation tools, and robotics companies accessing our training datasets. By accessing or using our services, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in several ways depending on how you interact with our services. The types of information we collect include (a) information you provide directly to us, (b) information we collect automatically through your use of our services, and (c) information we receive from third-party sources.
Information You Provide Directly: When you create an account, contact us, or use our services, you may provide us with information including (a) contact information such as your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address, (b) company information such as your company name, job title, and industry, (c) account credentials including username and password, (d) payment information such as credit card details and billing address, (e) communications you send to us including support requests and feedback, and (f) any other information you choose to provide.
Information Collected Automatically: When you access our website or use our services, we automatically collect certain information including (a) device information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers, (b) usage information including pages viewed, features used, time spent on our platform, and clickstream data, (c) location information derived from your IP address or device settings, and (d) cookies and similar tracking technologies as described in Section 8 below.
POV Footage and Operational Data: For operations customers using our safety monitoring and documentation services, we process point-of-view footage and operational data that you upload to our platform. This data may include (a) video footage from body-worn or helmet-mounted cameras, (b) metadata associated with footage including timestamps, location data, and device information, (c) AI-generated analyses including object detection, action recognition, and safety compliance assessments, (d) employee information necessary to associate footage with specific workers or job sites, and (e) incident reports, safety violations, and other documentation generated by our platform.
Training Dataset Information: For robotics customers licensing our training datasets, we provide anonymized and processed data that has been collected from field operations. This data includes (a) POV video footage with personal identifiers removed, (b) annotations including object labels, action segmentation, and spatial mapping, (c) metadata about the environment, task type, and industry context, and (d) any additional contextual information relevant to the dataset.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for various purposes related to providing, improving, and protecting our services. Specifically, we use your information to (a) provide and maintain our services including processing your requests and transactions, (b) communicate with you including responding to inquiries, sending service updates, and providing customer support, (c) improve our services by analyzing usage patterns and developing new features, (d) process payments and maintain billing records, (e) protect our services and users by detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and security threats, (f) comply with legal obligations including responding to legal requests and enforcing our policies, (g) conduct research and development to improve our AI models and detection capabilities, and (h) send marketing communications if you have opted in to receive them.
Use of POV Footage: For operations customers, we use uploaded footage solely to (a) provide safety monitoring and compliance detection services, (b) generate automated documentation and incident reports, (c) populate management dashboards with operational insights, (d) train and improve our AI detection models on an aggregate, de-identified basis, and (e) fulfill any other purposes you explicitly authorize.
Use of Training Datasets: Robotics customers receive datasets under separate licensing agreements that specify permitted uses. We use information about dataset usage to (a) fulfill licensing agreements and deliver datasets, (b) provide technical support and dataset documentation, (c) improve our data collection and annotation processes, and (d) develop new dataset offerings based on customer needs.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your information only in the following circumstances: (a) with your consent or at your direction, (b) with service providers who perform services on our behalf, (c) with business partners when necessary to provide integrated services, (d) in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition, (e) to comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests, (f) to protect our rights, property, or safety and that of our users, and (g) in aggregate or de-identified form that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
Service Providers: We work with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including (a) cloud hosting and storage providers, (b) payment processors, (c) customer support platforms, (d) analytics and monitoring services, (e) email and communication services, and (f) security and fraud prevention services. These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
POV Footage Sharing: We do not share your operational POV footage with third parties except (a) as necessary to provide cloud hosting and processing services, (b) when required by law or legal process, (c) with your explicit consent, or (d) in de-identified, aggregated form for research purposes. We do not use your operational footage to create training datasets for robotics customers without separate agreements and appropriate anonymization.
Training Dataset Licensing: Training datasets provided to robotics customers are subject to separate licensing agreements. All datasets are processed to remove personally identifiable information before delivery. We retain the right to (a) create and license datasets from operational footage where we have appropriate agreements with operations customers, (b) aggregate and anonymize data across multiple sources to create general-purpose datasets, and (c) use de-identified data to improve our services and develop new offerings.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our security measures include (a) encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL protocols, (b) encryption of data at rest using industry-standard encryption, (c) access controls and authentication mechanisms to limit who can access information, (d) regular security assessments and vulnerability testing, (e) employee training on data protection and security practices, (f) physical security measures for our infrastructure and facilities, and (g) incident response procedures to address security breaches promptly.
POV Footage Security: Given the sensitive nature of workplace footage, we implement enhanced security measures including (a) role-based access controls limiting footage access to authorized personnel only, (b) audit logging of all access to footage and operational data, (c) secure deletion protocols when footage retention periods expire, (d) data isolation ensuring each customer's footage is segregated, and (e) compliance with applicable data protection regulations.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for any activities that occur under your account.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Our retention practices vary based on the type of information and purpose: (a) account information is retained for as long as your account is active plus a reasonable period thereafter, (b) payment information is retained as required for accounting and tax purposes, (c) communications and support records are retained for customer service and legal purposes, (d) usage data may be retained in aggregate or de-identified form indefinitely, and (e) POV footage and operational data are retained according to your service agreement and applicable regulations.
Operations Customers: By default, we retain POV footage and operational data for (a) the duration specified in your service agreement, typically ranging from 30 to 365 days, (b) longer periods if required for active incidents, investigations, or legal holds, (c) in de-identified, aggregate form for AI model training and service improvement, and (d) as required by applicable workplace safety and compliance regulations. You may request deletion of specific footage or data subject to our legitimate business needs and legal obligations.
Robotics Customers: Dataset licensing agreements specify retention terms for customer account information and usage data. Training datasets themselves are delivered to customers under license, and we do not retain copies of customer-specific processed datasets beyond what is necessary for support and quality assurance purposes.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to (a) access and receive a copy of your personal information, (b) correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information, (c) delete your information subject to certain exceptions, (d) restrict or object to certain processing of your information, (e) data portability to receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format, (f) withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and (g) opt out of marketing communications.

We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law, typically within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. Please note that certain rights may be limited by applicable law or our legitimate business needs, and we will explain any limitations in our response.
Operations Customers: If you are a worker whose footage has been captured by an operations customer using Eigen, please note that the operations company is the data controller for that footage, and you should direct privacy requests to them. We act as a data processor on behalf of operations customers and will assist with privacy requests as appropriate.
Marketing Communications: You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from us by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails or by contacting us at contact@tryeigen.com. Please note that even if you opt out of marketing communications, we will still send you transactional and service-related communications.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activities and to provide certain features.
